High Art and Low Art

Are you aware that there is a concept that some art forms are “higher” than others? Yep and they are called as High art and Low art. If you do know so do you know which is which?

I learned that the concept of high and low can be traced back to 18th century ideas about fine art and craft. If so is classical music “higher” than rock music? or poetry above novel?
